Objectives
The main aim of the "VET- Business Cooperation Structures in the IT Sector – VETIT" project is the enhancement of VET-business partnerships on work-based learning and apprenticeships in the ICT sector in the regional context of Attica, Greece, and the local context of wider London, UK, through the transfer of related know-how from the UK and Denmark.
More specifically, VETIT:
Highly competitive partnership
Establishes a highly competitive partnership involving "companies, VET providers, other relevant stakeholders and intermediary organisations" in Greece and the UK, in order "to develop more relevant, systematic and sustainable approaches by transferring knowledge and by learning from well-established models and practices" from the UK and Denmark.
Regional and local dimension
Focuses on the regional and local dimension in order to produce concrete and sustainable results on the ground, through the active involvement of Municipalities and the design and development of activities in line with the Municipalities’ Local Development Plans, the Regional Operational Programme Attiki 2014-2020 and the Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) of Attiki, besides EU policy agenda.
Sector-oriented needs assessment
Aims "to bridge the gap between the worlds of education and business, to improve the relevance of education and training to labour market needs, and to raise excellence", through the undertaking of a sector-oriented needs assessment in WP2
Involvement of ICT-oriented partners
Directly involves ICT-oriented "business and social partners in the design and delivery of VET and to ensure a strong work-based learning element in VET"
